Education and training
The IOR offers high-level scientific education and training opportunities for young researchers (Predoc, PhD, Dr. med., MD-PhD and Postdoc) through the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) and other Swiss institutes such as ETH.
Undergraduate internships and Master's theses
In collaboration with USI and other Universities, the IOR offers the possibility to perform undergraduate internships and the practical part of the Master’s thesis in one of its research groups. Depending on their home university, students join laboratories of the IOR for up to 12 months to execute their research.
Applications can be submitted at any time to the Group Leaders.
Predoctoral training
Since 2021, the IOR has hosted young individuals who, after obtaining a Master’s degree from a recognized Swiss or foreign university, are interested in advancing their scientific training and possibly embarking on a research career by obtaining a doctorate (PhD) at the IOR or a similar institution.
Applications can be submitted at any time to the Group Leaders.
International PhD Program
Part of the IOR International PhD Program in Cancer Biology and Oncology, carried out in collaboration with the Università della Svizzera italiana (main partner) and other Swiss universities, entails an international Lecture Series, with presentations given by internationally recognized leader scientists in the field of cancer.
International Congresses
The IOR offers its employees the possibility to participate to international congresses, such as the International Conference on Malignant Lymphoma (ICML) and the Advanced Prostate Cancer Consensus Conference (APCCC).
