Bios+: Professor Franco Cavalli appointed president

The Bellinzona Institutes of Science Association, which includes the Institute for Research in Biomedicine and the Institute of Oncology Research affiliated with Università della Svizzera italiana, has appointed Prof. Franco Cavalli as president for the next two years. This regular rotation, as per the Statute, takes place every two years. Atty. Gabriele Gendotti will now serve as the vice president.
The appointment of Prof. Cavalli as president was unanimously endorsed by the Assembly that met on Wednesday, 24 May, at the Bios+ building in Bellinzona.
Under Gendotti's leadership Gendotti, President of the IRB Foundation, the Association has, in fact, laid the foundations for the development of a biomedical pole in Ticino and the Italian-speaking regions of Switzerland. In the next two years, under the leadership of Prof. Cavalli, Bios+ will continue its commitment to promoting scientific excellence on a national and international level.
