We are pleased to share that the work of Dr. Giuseppina Carbone (Group Leader of the IOR Prostate Cancer Biology Laboratory), presented at the inaugural AACR Conference on Drug Discovery and Development (AACR D3) in Boston, has been selected for inclusion in the official AACR blog Cancer Research Catalyst.
The blog, published on July 31, 2026, highlights emerging therapeutic strategies in oncology, including approaches to inhibit KRAS, enhance antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs), and overcome mechanisms of treatment resistance.
Dr. Carbone’s research focuses on cell reprogramming and the reversal of cancer cell plasticity as a therapeutic strategy, with the aim of reshaping tumor cell states and improving therapeutic response. Her work explores an innovative first-in-class mRNA-based therapeutic approach delivering a validated payload, the transcription factor ESE3/EHF, to restore epithelial identity and counteract tumor progression and resistance mechanisms.
This recognition underscores the growing relevance of strategies targeting tumor cell plasticity and transcriptional reprogramming within the evolving landscape of cancer drug discovery.
