Dr. Jonas Van Lent receives the Children's Tumor Foundation's Young Investigator Award

Dr. Jonas Van Lent, postdoctoral fellow in the Stem Cells and Cancer Laboratory led by Prof. Arianna Baggiolini, has been honored with the prestigious Children's Tumor Foundation's (CTF’s) Young Investigator Award (YIA). The YIA is the longest running program of the CTF and provides two-year funding. The award is aimed to support young scientifst doing cutting-edge science in the neurofibromatosis field and to promote their transition to independence. Thanks to this award Jonas will address the role of the human microenvironment on Neurofibromatosis-related tumor formation and progression.
In particular, Jonas is establishing a human pluripotent stem cells (hPSC)-based model of neurofibromatosis and addressing the role played by the different cellular players of the diease in oncogenic competence and cellular trasformation.
