Promising startup projects are often born in the labs, and USI supports members of the academic community interested in entrepreneurship through different services and initiatives.

This introductory seminar organised by USI Startup Centre in collaboration with USI Transfer is designed specifically for researchers and students in the Life Sciences field and offers valuable insights into the entrepreneurial process and different options for commercialising research findings and inventions to maximise their potential and impact.

On May 26th, an optional hands-on workshop will be offered to the participants who are interested in applying these concepts to real-world project cases guided by industry experts and advisors.

SPEAKERS

  • Andrea Foglia - Head of USI Transfer, Technology Transfer Office
    Andrea has extensive experience in technology transfer and a strong background in intellectual property rights (IPRs). At USI, IRB and IOR, he advises researchers in the areas of IPRs, collaboration with the industry, commercialisation, legal and licensing. He is also a Board Member of the Swiss Technology Transfer Association (swiTT) and a member of the Licensing Executive Society (LESI).
  • Silvia Panigone - CEO, ADYA Consulting
    With 25 years of experience in private and public companies and several Board positions, Silvia combines a profound understanding of corporate finance and private investments with a deep knowledge of drugs and devices development processes. She is the founder of ADYA, a Swiss investment boutique company focused on strategic counselling, interim management, deal structuring, and capital raising in the life sciences sector.
  • Tiziana Rosa - Startup Coach and Manager Life Sciences Area, USI Startup Centre
    Tiziana has a strong background in pharmaceutical sciences and extensive experience in innovation management and business development within the startup ecosystem. She has collaborated with startups in the biotech and medtech industries, helping them grow and successfully navigate complex market challenges. Currently, Tiziana supports life sciences startups at the USI Startup Centre, where she assists researchers in transforming their innovations into impactful business ventures.
