West China Hospital Delegation at IOR
Institute of Oncology Research
On Thursday, April 30, 2026, the Institute of Oncology Research (IOR, affiliated to USI and member of Bios+) had the pleasure of hosting a distinguished delegation from the Department of Urology of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Chengdu.
The visiting group was led by Prof. Qiang Wei (Director-in-Chief, Department of Urology, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Chengdu), accompanied by Dr. Qiu Shi (Resident & Associate Researcher, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Chengdu), as well as Zhou Xianghong, Huang Weichao, Luo Yichen (PhD students and postdoctoral researcher, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Chengdu).
Accompanied by Prof. Franco Cavalli, President of the IOR Foundation, and Prof. Andrea Alimonti, Director of the IOR, the delegation had the opportunity to visit the Institute and learn more about its research activities.
The delegation also participated in the International Prostate Cancer Symposium (IPCS) and the Advanced Prostate Cancer Consensus Conference (APCCC) 2026, held in Lugano, to engage with the international scientific community and exchange the latest advances in prostate cancer research and clinical practice.
The IOR warmly welcomed the delegation and looks forward to fostering future collaborations with West China Hospital, further strengthening international partnerships in cancer research and clinical innovation.
