INTERREG Project NERD: Next-generation diagnostics: Italian Swiss Technology Platform for precision medicine in oncology.
In the context of novel cancer therapeutics and precision medicine, the Laboratory of Experimental Therapeutics at IOR is a partner in the newly funded INTERREG project NERD, focused on next-generation diagnostics in oncology.
The INTERREG NERD project is a cross-border network dedicated to developing and transferring innovative technological platforms and precision-medicine approaches in oncology. The network brings together seven academic institutions and industrial partners from the Lombardy region and Canton Ticino, including IOR's Laboratory of Experimental Therapeutics, Bigomics Analytics, Bio4Dreams, New Italian Genetics, Stemgen, the University of Milano-Bicocca, and the University of Insubria. The consortium focuses on aggressive and poorly responsive cancers, including glioblastoma and metastatic prostate cancer, using a variety of experimental models and clinical samples. The overall strategy of the NERD project combines platform development, training, and technology transfer to reduce fragmentation and overcome barriers to the broader application of precision-medicine approaches in oncology.
