Lilly Immunodermatology Award to Dr. Daniela Impellizzieri
Institute of Oncology Research
Since 2017, the SGDV (Swiss Society of Dermatology and Venerology) has awarded an annual prize provided by Eli Lilly (Suisse) S.A. to promote research in the field of immunodermatology. An award of CHF 10'000 is allocated for the research activity of young scientists up to 40 years old. Applications are evaluated by a scientific committee and presented at the annual SGDV meeting. The 2022 prize was awarded to Dr. Daniela Impellizzieri, PhD, for her work on the role of neutrophils in type 2 immunity, commonly observed in tissues during allergic inflammation or parasitic infections.
She is currently working as Researcher in the Experimental Therapies group directed by Prof. Carlo Catapano at the Institute of Oncology Research (IOR, affiliated to USI and member of Bios+) in Bellinzona, on projects aimed at the identification of tumor-associated antigens, in particular prostate cancer, for the design of selective therapies with drug-conjugated antibodies.
Dr. Impellizzieri received her PhD in immunology in 2019 from UniversitätsSpital Zurich, producing ten scientific publications with high impact factor, including three first authorship papers.
